How Infrared Security Cameras Work

- Camera in Center of 104 IR LEDs
Infrared security cameras have infrared LED lighting (light from a different region of the electromagnetic spectrum). Thses LEDs are installed around the outside of the lens a camera. The lighting allows the camera to capture a images in no light at all, up to a certain distance depending on the number of LED’s used. With minimum light (or called low light) the infrared cameras can capture a picture that looks like it was takeen during the day. Business owners use infrared security camera systems for their businesses for after hours night time surveillance and viewing. During the nigh there is normally some light from the moon or street lights.
Infrared security cameras provide a color images durning decient lighting. During the evening the IR camera switches to infrared mode by switching on the IR LEDs. In this mode the image is captured in black and white. The light level required to capture a good picture is referred to as a camera’s lux, remember the lower the lux the better the camera can see in low light. Example a camera with 0.01 lux is not as good a camera with .003 lux. Infrared cameras should be considered to be zero lux in infrared mode.
If you are going add infrared cameras to a security camera system, use a outdoor weatherproof, bullet style IR camera. The outdoor housing will protect your investment from the weather. Remember a security camera system with weatherproof, bullet and IR cameras save you money in two ways, longer lasting and nighttime surveillance in low or no light.
Teenage Drivers and GPS tracking

It’s been reported that every hour of every single day a teenage driver is killed in a car accident? GPS surveillance systems have opened a new avenue to parents looking to keep their teens safe. GPS tracking systems allow parents to monitor, supervise and provide guidance to their teens both behind the wheel and in their day-to-day lives. Most teens drive one way when a parent is in the car versus when they’re not. With a GPS Tracker or Locator however, it’s like you’re sitting next them when they are driving! Invest in a GPS vehicle tracking system to assist you in keeping you teenager safe.
Statistics on Teenage Drivers:

There is a way for parents to monitor and help protect their teenagers. A Global Positioning System now gives parents an affordable way to monior their teens driving habits. Invasion of privacy? In the Dark, These Cameras See

One of the best ways you can set up surveillance for your home is by installing cameras at the entry points so you can see who is coming and going – and who is not welcome. You can set up cameras to feed live video onto monitors in your house, so you can see what’s going on at all times. That way, you know who is coming before it is too late. The problem is that many intruders try to break in at night, when normal cameras can’t see in the darkness.
You’ll need night vision cameras for maximum home security. Look for cameras that automatically switch from color to black and white in low light conditions for maximum clarity. Durable, weatherproof night vision cameras are also useful so they don’t get ruined by rain, snow and wind. Even if you can’t be home to catch intruders before they break in, you will have evidence showing who they are to better help you catch them.

How Does A GPS Work

When people talk about “GPS,” they usually mean a GPS receiver unit, but the Global Positioning System (GPS) is actually a constellation of 27 Earth orbiting satellites. The U.S. military developed and implemented this satellite network as a military navigation system, but opened it up to the private sector.
Each of these solar powered satellites circles the globe making two complete rotations every day. The orbits are arranged so that at anytime, anywhere on Earth, there are at least four satellites “visible” in the sky.
The GPS receiver’s job is: locate four or more of these satellites, figure the distance to each satellite, and use this information to determine its location. This operation is a simple mathematical principle called trilateration.
Once the receiver makes this calculation, it can tell you the latitude, longitude and altitude (or some similar measurement) of its current position. To make the navigation more user-friendly, most receivers will download this raw data into map.
The standard GPS tracking receiver will not only place you on a map at any particular location, but will also trace your path across a map as you move. The receiver stays in constant communication with GPS satellites to see how your location is changing. With this information and its built-in clock, the receiver can give you several pieces of valuable information: How far you’ve traveled (odometer), how long you’ve been traveling, current speed, average speed and a “bread crumb” trail showing you exactly where you have traveled on the map.
